Our story

A ride worth taking

Owlo was founded in 2022 with a straightforward idea: the short trips that fill our daily lives, the commute to work, the dash between meetings, the evening stroll, don't need a car. They need something smarter, lighter, and cleaner.

We built Owlo to be that alternative. Starting with a fleet of electric scooters and a mobile app, we set out to prove that sustainable urban mobility could be genuinely convenient, not a compromise. No fuel, no emissions, no complicated bookings. Just open the app, find your nearest scooter, and go.

Three years in, we're operating across multiple cities on two continents, and growing. Every ride on an Owlo scooter is a car trip replaced, a small act of choosing the world you want to live in. We think those choices add up, and we're building the infrastructure to make them easy.

What is Owlo?

Owlo is a smart electric scooter sharing platform that makes urban mobility cleaner, greener and more accessible. Download the app, find a scooter near you on the live map, scan to unlock, and ride, all in under a minute.

Where is Owlo available?

Owlo currently operates in Doha (Qatar), Abu Dhabi (UAE), and Hurghada (Egypt). We are actively expanding to new cities. Follow our channels to hear about new launches first.

How do I find an Owlo scooter?

Open the Owlo app and the home screen shows a live map of all scooters available near you. Try zooming out on the map if no scooter is visible in your immediate area.

How do I start a ride?

Tap "Ride" in the app, scan the QR code on the handlebar of any nearby scooter, and it unlocks instantly. Kick off and press the throttle, you're riding. No keys, no waiting, no registration desk.

Where can I park my Owlo?

Park in any permitted zone shown on the app map. Avoid blocking pedestrian paths, building entrances, bus stops, or disabled access routes. End your ride in the app once you have parked safely.

How do I pay?

Add your credit or debit card to your Owlo wallet before your first ride. Charges are calculated by unlock fee plus per-minute rate and applied automatically when you end your trip. You can review all charges in the ride history section.

Is the payment system secure?

Yes. All card data is stored and processed through PCI-DSS compliant payment infrastructure. Owlo never stores your full card number, only a secure token used to process your rides.

What if there is a problem with the scooter?

If a scooter has a technical issue during your ride, bring it safely to a stop, lock it in any suitable location, and end your trip in the app. Use the in-app report button to flag the issue. Our operations team will respond as quickly as possible.
